About Jesus
If you want to know more about Jesus Christ, then this page will help you get started.
Jesus Christ was a real historical person. He taught people about God and how to live life fully. He did many miracles to prove his teaching was from God and to demonstrate what life is like when God rules. He was killed by the religious and political leaders of his community but came back to life three days later. Many people saw him alive and he then went back to heaven. Because of this, Christians believe Jesus Christ is alive. He came to reconcile us to God and give us eternal life so that we can live forever with God and others who love God.
You can read about this in the Bible and a good place to start is reading the gospel of Mark.
Christians call Jesus their ‘Saviour and Lord’ because he has made it possible for them to experience forgiveness and acceptance with God. Although God is perfect and humans aren’t Jesus made it possible to have a relationship with a perfect God. You don’t have to be perfect to have a relationship with God; you simply need to trust that Jesus Christ is God’s solution. He died for us, taking the penalty for our sin, so that we can be free to experience God’s love and forgiveness. Jesus is God’s gift to us.
If you want to pray and surrender your life to God, receive forgiveness and start a new life, then this prayer may help you:
Dear God, I am sorry for trying to run my own life. Please forgive me.
I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for my sins and rose from the dead. Thank you that through him I have forgiveness.
Today I make Jesus my Saviour and Lord. Please give me the Holy Spirit to help me live for you. Amen
It is really important to connect with people who believe the same things. Please come along to meet others at our Sunday service or find out about some of the groups we have where people can learn about Jesus and what Christians believe.
